The Interconnection and Differences
- Scope: Values are the broadest category, encompassing all ethics and morals. However, not
all values are ethical.
○ For example, bravery, wealth, and fitness are values, but lacking them does not make a
person unethical. - Function: While values motivate an individual to pursue what they hold dear, ethics constrain
and regulate actions to ensure they are morally correct. - Application: Ethics defines the external code a group adheres to, whereas morality delves
into right and wrong at a deeper, personal, and spiritual level.
